World-renowned natural slate experts SSQ are gearing up for an exciting Pitched Roofing Awards event that will see two of their projects in the running for prestigious prizes.
In November, senior figures from across the UK roofing will congregate in Manchester to celebrate the very best the sector has to offer.
SSQ’s work with Iford Construction on Grade I and Grade II*-listed Iford Manor in Bradford-on-Avon has seen them shortlisted in the Best Use of a Heritage Roof category.
In addition, an SSQ collaboration with AH Construction on a private home in Duporth, Cornwall has been named a finalist in the Best Use of Slate for a Domestic Project category.
Both projects incorporated SSQ’s widely-celebrated Riverstone phyllite, sourced from its own quarry in San Luis, Argentina, and prized for its colour, longevity and strength.
SSQ also sponsors the Best Use of Slate for a Commercial Project category.
SSQ founder and Managing Director Ahmed El-Helw comments: “We’re delighted to have the chance to get together with dozens of friends and colleagues throughout the sector for the first time since 2019 – and especially excited to have two outstanding projects in the running for awards.
“Despite the challenges of the pandemic, we’ve thankfully been able to continue supplying stunning developments throughout the country, and would like to thank all our customers for their support over the last 18 months.
“Best of luck to everyone who’s been shortlisted for an award this year, and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the night.”
At last year’s virtual Pitched Roofing Awards, SSQ and RS Miller won Best Use of Slate for a Commercial Project for their work on Broad Meadow care home in Dudley.
